VQ is set to host this year’s High Heel-a-Thon, in aid of Yorkshire Cancer Research. High Heel-a-thon is a fun run (or walk!) with a twist – all participants must cross the start and finish lines in heels.
The event takes place on Sunday 26th September and participants will begin and finish in the Victoria Quarter on Briggate, following a new, slightly extended, 1.5 mile route around the city, taking in many of Leeds’ best known landmarks. Details of the route will be made available at the launch which takes place on Thursday 24th June in VQ.
The day will not end at the finish line though, as the afternoon will be filled with fun, food, family activities and much more. Those participating will receive a goody bag with lots of fantastic treats and the opportunity to win some amazing prizes as well as the chance to rub shoulders with some very special celebrity guests.
The individual entrance fee for 2010 will be just £10.00 (£5 for students), which covers entrance administration and the cost of the very attractive event t-shirt. Company teams this year will be particularly encouraged to take part and customise their t-shirts! And for those wanting to take part with their dog; our four legged friends will be just £5. Of course, on top of this we are asking participants to raise as much sponsor money for Yorkshire Cancer Research as possible.
